Volunteer of the Month – Tracie Young
This February we are proud to recognize Tracie as our Volunteer of the Month for her outstanding dedication and leadership within our community. She generously gives her time and expertise to several local organizations, serving as Treasurer for the Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Wautoma, and as President of the Poy Sippi Library.
Tracie’s commitment to service spans many years. She has been involved with both the Chamber and Rotary for four years, and she has dedicated an impressive 13 years to the Poy Sippi Library. Her long-standing involvement reflects not only her passion for community service but also her deep-rooted investment in the success and growth of our local area.
When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, she shared “My favorite part is seeing a project or event come to fruition. There are countless hours of hard work and effort put in behind the scenes, that all pays off with the final result. I love being there on the day of an event and seeing the community come together and support each other.” Being present on the day of an event and witnessing that shared sense of pride and connection is what makes her volunteer work so meaningful.
Each organization she serves holds a special place in her heart because of the positive impact they have on the community. Through Tracie’s work with the Chamber, she supports local business growth by helping organize events that bring visitors into the area, coordinating ribbon cuttings to celebrate new businesses, and assisting with Business After 5 gatherings that foster networking and professional connections.
Her involvement with Rotary allows Tracie to contribute to initiatives that give back in meaningful ways across the county. From financial sponsorships for major community projects like the new YMCA to supporting youth programming and safety days, Rotary plays a vital role in strengthening the community’s future.
As President of the Poy Sippi Library, Tracie helps provide free resources, educational programming, and a welcoming gathering space for families and friends. The library serves as a cornerstone of the small-town community, and her dedication ensures it remains a place of learning, connection, and opportunity for all.
