Fortifi Bank Makes Grant Money Available Amid COVID-19

Fortifi Bank announced today that they will award $1,000 COVID Relief Grants to 20 non-profit organizations in May.  Together, with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBC), this money is intended to assist groups with the financial strain presented by COVID-19.

To be eligible, organizations must have a 501c3 or 501c6 government status. No other requirements are necessary.  To apply, applicants must visit FortifiBank.com/grant to complete the grant form. All submissions are due before 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2020.  Winners will be randomly selected on Monday, May 18, 2020 and announced shortly thereafter.

In the years since the Great Recession, FHLBC has focused on serving their members and building financial strength for just such a crisis as we face today. They have allocated enough funds for all their member institutions to receive COVID-19 Relief Grant funds.

“We are lucky to have such a strong partner with aligned values to accommodate this relief program,” stated Greg Lundberg, president of Fortifi Bank.  “Together, we will be able to help 20 non-profit organizations who are undoubtedly struggling as the effects of COVID are rampant.”

In addition to this program, the bank has created a COVID-19 informative page on their website to keep consumers informed. Most recently, they’ve published articles about managing your money during hard times, stimulus check information, and regulation changes that you should know.  To read these topics and others, visit FortifiBank.com/covid.

“As a bank, we feel strongly that it is our responsibility to help first, especially during difficult times, through information, education, and now relief grants,” commented Mike Boettcher, Fortifi’s chief financial officer, when asked how a community bank contributes.
